1. What different blog formats have you used (i.e. Blogger, LiveJournal, WordPress, your own HTML, etc.? Which did you like the best?
~ I’ve started with LiveJournal then Blogger. When I moved to a new domain, I moved to WordPress and never looked back. I’ve also tried Drupal but didn’t have much fun with it.

2. How did you get into blogging? How long have you had a blog?
~ I’ve started six years ago because I needed to have an outlet. I didn’t care about readership back then because I usually write about nonsense things. When I got married and gave birth, that’s when serious blogging started. I met a lot of friends through blogging too.

3. Why do you blog?
~ I blog mainly because I love talking about myself LOL. Seriously, I work from home and the only conversation I get is through chat. With blogging, I can express my thoughts all the time and get to read updates from my online friends.

4. Do you have theme blog (i.e. crafting, cooking, deployment, pregnancy, etc.) or is it all in one?
~ I have a blog on parenting, technology, women’s issues, work from home.

5. Do you let it all hang out on your blog, or do you keep it light?
~ I keep it light. No sad stories and dirty laundries if I can help it :)

6. What is your favorite thing about your blog? What has it given you?
~ I’ve met a lot of interesting people because of blogging. I don’t feel deprived for not having a real person to talk to (which is the case when you work in a real office).

Trick or Trick?

Filed under: personal stuff — Wrote by admin on Thursday, September 25th, 2008 @ 6:33 pm

When I saw that some of the mommy bloggers have already chosen a Halloween costume, I panicked. Okay, October 30 is still what, a month or so but we take trick or treating seriously here. Why, just last year, we attended three of them and that wasn’t even enough. My daughter would probably love to go as Harry Potter because she’s just crazy about him. It looks boring and not at all cute on her but if that’s what she wants, then it’s okay with me. If only I can let her wear the costume she wore last year, it will save me a lot of money LOL.

As for me, I saw this great-looking, golden wig for only $2. I’m definitely buying it for the annual trick or treating in our subdivision. I just can’t see myself wearing another witch’s hat this year. Plus I will look younger compared with the other moms in our neighborhood (insert evil laugh here).

Thursday Thirteen - 164th Edition

I’ve been reading this book about vampires and the main character was so hot and gorgeous. I suddenly remembered all the hot men that I’ve read and seen either on TV and movies. So for Thursday Thirteen, I thought I’d list down my top hottest fictional characters.

1. Edward Cullen - The main character from Twilight. I just love him with all my heart. I wish he was my vampire BWAHAHAHA.

2. Vampire Lestat - do I have to explain? At least, the book counterpart. Tom Cruise wasn’t all that cute as Lestat but Stuart Townsende was passable.

3. Legolas - Those pointed ears just added charisma to his angelic face.

4. Peter Petrelli - He’s just your typical boy next door. Plus the way he filled out on Season 2 isn’t bad for the eyes.

5. Superman - I’ve never been crazy for men in tights but Brandon Routh sure wore them fine.

7. Alladin - my first crush when I was a little girl.

8. Casper - The boy version not the ghost. Played by Devon Sawa. All kids my age back then loved him!

9. Landon - A walk to remember. Isn’t he just the sweetest guy? Making sure you finish all the things you want to do before you die. Now how many guys do you think are willing to do that?

10. Jack Harper - that hot boss from Can You keep a Secret

11. Anakin/ Young Darth Vader - from Episode 2. Hawwtt!

12. Jerry Maguire - He had me at hello.

13. Gavin Montgomery - The oldest son from the Montgomery series by Jude Deveraux.

Everybody’s getting sick these days

First, my daughter was brought to the hospital after throwing up four times in one hour.

Then my long time client and now also considered a friend was hospitalized due to three days of high fever. I wondered if I should send some gift baskets?

Third, my boss in the US has the flu.

Fourth, at least half of the kids that I know from the Internet either have colds, high fever or vomiting.

Fifth, I just proved that I’m not all that strong. I was bedridden for one whole day because of fever. That’s saying a lot because I rarely stay in one place when a computer is nearby.

Questions of the Week #32

Check it out at Yen’s blog.

1. Have you ever wished you’re someone elses?
Hmm tricky. It depends who’s reading my blog LOL.

2. Can you say one nice thing about a person that you do not like the most? What is that?
You’re very brave to piss me off.

3. Finish this sentence. “Sometimes I can be…
Judgemental. But most of the time, I really try my best to find a reason why someone is acting badly.

4. Finish this sentence. “Compared to my real life self, my Internet persona is…
Absolutely the same.

5. Life dishes out pain from time to time. We can never tell. Loss of a loved ones, breakup of a relationship, etc. How do you deal with this pain?
I cry. A lot. It’s embarassing.

6. Are you a leader, follower or loner?
I’ve always liked to lead but I can be a good follower too.

7. Would you rather blend in with the crowd or stand out?
I’m okay with both but I always stand out no matter what I do BWAHAHA (joke)

8. What do you take pride in? You can brag a little, or a lot more. It’s your day!
Well, I guess the fact that I can support myself without my parents or husband’s help.

9. When people pop their gum do you find it annoying?
Nope.

10. How often do you complain?
All the time. It’s a great stress reliever. I doubt if the one I’m with can say the same though.

Filed under: tags — Wrote by admin on Monday, September 22nd, 2008 @ 10:21 am

From the randomness blog.

1. Name a few of your favorite books.
Griffin and Sabine Trilogy, Catcher in the Rye, Veronika Decides to Die, Time Traveler’s Wife, Harry Potter 7, Twilight

2. Is there an author that you don’t like, yet so many people seem to love?
None. I don’t really care.

3. Name a book to film adaptation that you really like. Name one you think was done poorly.
The Notebook was great but Harry Potter - Order of the Phoenix didn’t do the book any justice.

4. Where do you buy your books?
Local bookstores, online websites, gifts. I’ve started reading ebooks now though because of the limited space in our bookshelf. At least, my phone’s memory can handle more than a hundred titles.

5. What genre do you read the most?
Fiction, chic lit, mystery

6. What genre do you dislike?
Horror, Action

7. Is there a book that has changed your life?
All of the books that I like changed my life. They affect me so much that I always get sad whenever I finish a story.

8. Have you ever met an author? What author would you like to meet?
I’d love to meet Stephenie Meyer, the author of my latest favorite books.

Friday Fill-Ins #90

1. There is no need for ‘wind up radios when you own a store that sells batteries’

2. Where in the heck did the ‘time go’?

3. ‘Browsing websites’ is all I managed to do.

4. Prospects for ‘Christmas presents are in order’.

5. ‘Don’t suck up to your boss’ is the message.

6. Simplicity and tranquility are ‘what I badly need right now after spending days in the hospital with my daughter’.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to ‘have uninterrupted sleep for more than 8 hours’, tomorrow my plans include ‘reading books and watching a DVD marathon’ and Sunday, I want to ‘have a 2-hour massage’!

More PhotoShop Disasters

Filed under: cool finds — Wrote by admin on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 @ 9:35 am

Just want to entertain you all. Here are more graphic manipulation disasters from the Photoshop Disasters blog. This makes me wonder about my personal boo-boos when it comes to photo editing. My brother, who’s a graphic artist, always tells me the importance of having someone to proof your work. When you’re looking too close, which is usually the case when designing; you will have the tendency to miss out on bigger things.

With constant use of air brushing, cropping, duplicating, and merging, no wonder none of the celebrities ever show acne on their photos.
