WW - Doors

From the randomness blog.
1. Name a few of your favorite books.
Griffin and Sabine Trilogy, Catcher in the Rye, Veronika Decides to Die, Time Traveler’s Wife, Harry Potter 7, Twilight
2. Is there an author that you don’t like, yet so many people seem to love?
None. I don’t really care.
3. Name a book to film adaptation that you really like. Name one you think was done poorly.
The Notebook was great but Harry Potter - Order of the Phoenix didn’t do the book any justice.
4. Where do you buy your books?
Local bookstores, online websites, gifts. I’ve started reading ebooks now though because of the limited space in our bookshelf. At least, my phone’s memory can handle more than a hundred titles.
5. What genre do you read the most?
Fiction, chic lit, mystery
6. What genre do you dislike?
Horror, Action
7. Is there a book that has changed your life?
All of the books that I like changed my life. They affect me so much that I always get sad whenever I finish a story.
8. Have you ever met an author? What author would you like to meet?
I’d love to meet Stephenie Meyer, the author of my latest favorite books.
1. There is no need for ‘wind up radios when you own a store that sells batteries’
2. Where in the heck did the ‘time go’?
3. ‘Browsing websites’ is all I managed to do.
4. Prospects for ‘Christmas presents are in order’.
5. ‘Don’t suck up to your boss’ is the message.
6. Simplicity and tranquility are ‘what I badly need right now after spending days in the hospital with my daughter’.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to ‘have uninterrupted sleep for more than 8 hours’, tomorrow my plans include ‘reading books and watching a DVD marathon’ and Sunday, I want to ‘have a 2-hour massage’!

Just want to entertain you all. Here are more graphic manipulation disasters from the Photoshop Disasters blog. This makes me wonder about my personal boo-boos when it comes to photo editing. My brother, who’s a graphic artist, always tells me the importance of having someone to proof your work. When you’re looking too close, which is usually the case when designing; you will have the tendency to miss out on bigger things.

With constant use of air brushing, cropping, duplicating, and merging, no wonder none of the celebrities ever show acne on their photos.
What’s worse, physical or mental cheating? Why?
Both. Although mental cheating would probably do more damage. The physical comes and goes but when emotions are involved, it’s so much harder to forget.
Do you think men and women can be just friends? Why or why not?
Yes, but only if they limit the way they share things. For example, you can’t tell your guy friend about your marital problems in detail and vice versa.
How do you feel about dating co-workers?
It’s fine. I met my husband in the office actually.

With all the news surrounding Steve Jobs and his health, I want to post about the first Apple product here.
The Apple I. This has been designed and hand-built by Steve Wozniak, a friend of Steve Jobs. It’s Apple’s first product and went on sale at a price of $666.66 at the Homebrew Computer Club in California, 32 years ago. It is also the first computer that used a fully assembled circuit board containing 30 chips.

Photo of the Apple I. Not so stylish eh? But back then; this machine proved that consumers are interested on having their own personal computers too.
I’m glad I was born late. I don’t have to worry about computer case, power supply, keyboard and display just to make a computer work. The worst problem that I can encounter now is running out of laptop memory or crashing a hard drive.

Have you ever felt pressured to read something because ‘everyone else’ was reading it? Have you ever given in and read the book(s) in question or do you resist? If you are a reviewer, etc, do you feel it’s your duty to keep up on current trends
Not really but I hate not being able to relate when people talk about their latest reads. I buy a book IF I find it interesting based on reviews online, personal opinion from friends, and the summary at the back cover. It’s a different story if I’m a reviewer of course. I need to be able to eat and breathe books if I want to earn money from it. I remembered stumbling upon my favorite book/s of all time, the Griffin and Sabine trilogy. It seems all my friends who are into art have read these books except me. I didn’t feel pressured but I am dying to know what was so cool about the post cards that came with the books.
How many times have I told you how great the Internet is? Without it, I wouldn’t know that it’s possible to buy the moon. I’m serious! Apparently, you can now own a moon property by purchasing an officially authorized lunar land. Some people buy this as a gift to their loved one to show how important they are. It’s not everyday that you receive a moon property right? According to the site, the romantic gift set includes personalized deed certificates, historical info about the lunar region, a satellite photograph of your moon property and coordinates so you can find it through a telescope. Now that’s what I call an out-of-the-box present.
