10 Things that Scare You/Freak You Out

Filed under: anything under the sun — Wrote by admin on Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 @ 5:39 pm

This week’s Ten on Tuesday

I’m scared of the unknown. The fact that I don’t know what’s going to happen scares the living hell out of me.

1. The dark.
2. Ghosts who used to live in the house that I’m staying in
3. Horror movies - all kinds, no exception
4. The future of my daughter
5. Snakes
6. Our economy / government
7. My economics professor
8. Getting stuck in an island or mountain where no GPS will ever work
9. Cannibals
10. Seedy motel rooms where you’d most probably end up dead

Have a Break, Read Gossips

Filed under: cool finds, websites — Wrote by admin on Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 @ 9:29 am

Let me share with you my most favorite Gossip Blogs.

Perez Hilton - I came across this while reading John Mayer’s blog. Since then, I got hooked with his funny comments (and sometimes nasty) about the hottest celebrity in Hollywood. The white marks on the photos are hilarious and a great personal touch. If you like reading which celeb has gone to drug rehab or alcohol rehab recently, reportedly gay, getting hitched / breaking up, then this blog is for you.

Other blogs that does the same thing.

Aside from lurking my friends’ blogs, I read these blogs almost everyday. It’s keeps me updated with Hollywood Gossip and serves as a break whenever I get too tired from designing. As soon as I get my daily dose of laughter, I find that it’s easier to get back to work. I try to visit everyday because if I don’t, I’d have plenty of posts to catch up with. Next thing I know, half of the day have passed and I’m nowhere near done with my tasks.

Moody Mondays

Filed under: personal stuff, tags — Wrote by admin on Monday, September 29th, 2008 @ 5:38 pm

This weeks Moody Mondays is all about Word Association! I will give you a list of ten words and you tell me the first word you think of.

01. School - Art classes. The best part about going to school when I was young is discovering art lessons.

02. Books - Twilight Saga

03. Teachers - Terror

04. Children - Playmates

05. Classes - Drawing. Like I’ve said, school and classes remind me of art so much.

06. Computer - Shopping. That’s what I’ve been doing for the past week. Online shopping till I drop.

07. Alarm Clock - Exercise. Everyday I set an alarm to wake my husband so he can hit the treadmill. I’m helping him lose weight without using a diet pill before October 25th.

08. Desks - Hard. Also itchy.

09. Pencils - Escape.

10. Paper - Doodles.

Hollywood Buzz

While we’re in the subject of celebrities, I was shocked to find out that Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynold got married in Canada. I wasn’t even aware that they were going out! Guess that proves how updated I am. I’m now researching the web for wedding photos because I just love love love Scarlett. Not as much as Katie Holmes of course but there’s something about her voice and lips that’s so sexy. She can cover her body with bulky clothes and she’d still look sexy.

Another latest that I can’t believe is about Lindsay Lohan’s latest flame. Apparently, she likes women now. Huh, when did that happen? Lindsay’s Dad calls her gal pal Sam a “disgusting representation of humanity”.

LiLo is so skinny on the photo below. Wonder if she’s taking Anoretix?

Manic Monday #136

Filed under: anything under the sun — Wrote by admin on Monday, September 29th, 2008 @ 8:36 am

What is the most useful gift you’ve ever been given? I’d say my laptop, which has been paid in half by my company. I’ve never felt so free, working and browsing anywhere in the house. Well, until the battery gave up.

Name the most terrifying moment of your life so far.
My husband and I were riding a shuttle on our way home. All of a sudden, we heard a loud crash and when we looked outside, three cabs were squeezed in between a huge truck and a bus. The lane is right next to us so it could have easily been our van that was in the middle.

One hot summer afternoon, while walking through a parking lot at a large shopping center, you notice a dog suffering badly from the heat inside a locked car. What would you do?
Call security and have the owner paged.

1. What different blog formats have you used (i.e. Blogger, LiveJournal, WordPress, your own HTML, etc.? Which did you like the best?
~ I’ve started with LiveJournal then Blogger. When I moved to a new domain, I moved to WordPress and never looked back. I’ve also tried Drupal but didn’t have much fun with it.

2. How did you get into blogging? How long have you had a blog?
~ I’ve started six years ago because I needed to have an outlet. I didn’t care about readership back then because I usually write about nonsense things. When I got married and gave birth, that’s when serious blogging started. I met a lot of friends through blogging too.

3. Why do you blog?
~ I blog mainly because I love talking about myself LOL. Seriously, I work from home and the only conversation I get is through chat. With blogging, I can express my thoughts all the time and get to read updates from my online friends.

4. Do you have theme blog (i.e. crafting, cooking, deployment, pregnancy, etc.) or is it all in one?
~ I have a blog on parenting, technology, women’s issues, work from home.

5. Do you let it all hang out on your blog, or do you keep it light?
~ I keep it light. No sad stories and dirty laundries if I can help it :)

6. What is your favorite thing about your blog? What has it given you?
~ I’ve met a lot of interesting people because of blogging. I don’t feel deprived for not having a real person to talk to (which is the case when you work in a real office).

Trick or Trick?

Filed under: personal stuff — Wrote by admin on Thursday, September 25th, 2008 @ 6:33 pm

When I saw that some of the mommy bloggers have already chosen a Halloween costume, I panicked. Okay, October 30 is still what, a month or so but we take trick or treating seriously here. Why, just last year, we attended three of them and that wasn’t even enough. My daughter would probably love to go as Harry Potter because she’s just crazy about him. It looks boring and not at all cute on her but if that’s what she wants, then it’s okay with me. If only I can let her wear the costume she wore last year, it will save me a lot of money LOL.

As for me, I saw this great-looking, golden wig for only $2. I’m definitely buying it for the annual trick or treating in our subdivision. I just can’t see myself wearing another witch’s hat this year. Plus I will look younger compared with the other moms in our neighborhood (insert evil laugh here).

Thursday Thirteen - 164th Edition

See entries here

I’ve been reading this book about vampires and the main character was so hot and gorgeous. I suddenly remembered all the hot men that I’ve read and seen either on TV and movies. So for Thursday Thirteen, I thought I’d list down my top hottest fictional characters.

1. Edward Cullen - The main character from Twilight. I just love him with all my heart. I wish he was my vampire BWAHAHAHA.

2. Vampire Lestat - do I have to explain? At least, the book counterpart. Tom Cruise wasn’t all that cute as Lestat but Stuart Townsende was passable.

3. Legolas - Those pointed ears just added charisma to his angelic face.

4. Peter Petrelli - He’s just your typical boy next door. Plus the way he filled out on Season 2 isn’t bad for the eyes.

5. Superman - I’ve never been crazy for men in tights but Brandon Routh sure wore them fine.

7. Alladin - my first crush when I was a little girl.

8. Casper - The boy version not the ghost. Played by Devon Sawa. All kids my age back then loved him!

9. Landon - A walk to remember. Isn’t he just the sweetest guy? Making sure you finish all the things you want to do before you die. Now how many guys do you think are willing to do that?

10. Jack Harper - that hot boss from Can You keep a Secret

11. Anakin/ Young Darth Vader - from Episode 2. Hawwtt!

12. Jerry Maguire - He had me at hello.

13. Gavin Montgomery - The oldest son from the Montgomery series by Jude Deveraux.

Everybody’s getting sick these days

Filed under: anything under the sun — Wrote by admin on Thursday, September 25th, 2008 @ 9:17 am

First, my daughter was brought to the hospital after throwing up four times in one hour.

Then my long time client and now also considered a friend was hospitalized due to three days of high fever. I wondered if I should send some gift baskets?

Third, my boss in the US has the flu.

Fourth, at least half of the kids that I know from the Internet either have colds, high fever or vomiting.

Fifth, I just proved that I’m not all that strong. I was bedridden for one whole day because of fever. That’s saying a lot because I rarely stay in one place when a computer is nearby.

You’re very brave to piss me off.

Absolutely the same.

I cry. A lot. It’s embarassing.

6. Are you a leader, follower or loner?
I’ve always liked to lead but I can be a good follower too.

7. Would you rather blend in with the crowd or stand out?
I’m okay with both but I always stand out no matter what I do BWAHAHA (joke)

8. What do you take pride in? You can brag a little, or a lot more. It’s your day!
Well, I guess the fact that I can support myself without my parents or husband’s help.

9. When people pop their gum do you find it annoying?
Nope.

10. How often do you complain?
All the time. It’s a great stress reliever. I doubt if the one I’m with can say the same though.
