Keep Your Kids Safe with GPS Tracking

Filed under: technology — Wrote by admin on Sunday, June 29th, 2008 @ 9:11 pm

Tracking devices have always been a controversial topic because of privacy issues. However, I believe that services like GPS Tracking can save time and even lives when used wisely. In fact, Lightning GPS has created a solution especially for law enforcement to help them do their jobs efficiently.

For personal use, GPS Tracking can be a great gadget for parents who are always worried about their children. There are always cases of missing children anywhere in the world that parents just can’t relax enough when their kids are not with them. Lightning GPS have several GPS Tracking devices for kids that you can choose from. There are GPS jackets, GPS strollers, GPS clothing and GPS backpacks developed both for outdoors and indoors to help parents informed where their children are at all times. You can never be too safe when it comes to your child’s safety.

So yes, I approve tracking devices as long as it’s used for safety and saving crimes. I don’t think using one on your spouse, even if you’re suspecting him/her of infidelity, will help you solve your marital problems.

Planning a Wii Purchase

Filed under: personal stuff, technology — Wrote by admin on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 @ 1:12 am

My husband has conspired with my daughter in convincing me to buy them a Nintendo Wii. I’ve already established before that I’m not crazy about video games and my husband knows this. Hence, the need to use my daughter. He also sent me the URL for Shopwiki.com so I can learn more about this game console. I admit I’m just giving them a hard time but the truth is, I’m really planning to buy one this Christmas. They can get really charming and cooperative with household chores when they need to buy something.

I checked Shopwiki anyway just to see what kind of Wii games would they recommend. There are lots of arcade games that I’m sure my husband will love but what I’m really looking for are Wii Board games. There’s monopoly, newlywed’s (to check how compatible you are with your spouse), High Society, Lost (yes, the TV show), Harry Potter and lots more. Call me what you want but I actually got excited when I saw the 12 in 1 Board Game (chess, checkers, Othello, snakes and ladders, etc). And above all else, I’d really love to try out the Tennis games using a tennis racquet remote. I saw some blog posts about people who have one and can’t help but notice how fun it looks.

So, does it show how excited I am to get one? Just don’t tell me husband or else he’d stop kissing my A_ _. :)

Whenever I wake up in the morning, I’m usually so pumped about the things that I need to do. However, when lunchtime comes; I always wonder where the time has gone and why I have so many tasks left at hand. So to start my day, I’m gonna write down my to-do list here.

1. Go to the bank and apply for a new checking account
2. Pay our credit card bills
3. Fetch my daughter and prepare her lunch
4. When the little one is asleep, work on my design projects
5. Set up a meeting with my daughter’s teacher to discuss School policies
6. List down my monthly budget
7. Plan our meals for the week
8. Apply for a new SSS ID
9. Talk to the homeowner president to ask the requirements in setting up a garage sale.

Good thing we have a helper or else my list will includes laundry, cooking, and cleaning the house.

Spy Phone - Home Surveillance That You Can Access Anywhere

Filed under: technology — Wrote by admin on Thursday, June 26th, 2008 @ 12:50 am

Have you heard about Phone-007? It’s a special telephone that you can use to record phone calls or conversations nearby in a discreet manner. All sounds are then stored in a secure network so you can listen to it via phone anywhere in the world or through the web. This type of service may be intrusive but according to the website, there are tons of cases where this phone actually helped people catch a cheating spouse, monitor a baby, or find out what their teenagers are up to.

It may be invasion of privacy to some but I think it depends on what you plan to do with this spy phone. And if you’re the owner, you can do what you want to ensure the safety of your kids or home. Now, for working mothers, there’s no better feeling than knowing that their babies and toddlers are being taken care of by their nannies. Think of Phone-007 as a nanny cam. Instead of recording videos, the spy phone can record all sounds your baby (or nanny) makes even when the phone is not in use. Wherever the mom is, she can just dial the Phone-007 access number to listen to recordings or download audio from the web. This process also applies to checking on your teenagers or elderly at home. You can make sure that everyone at home is safe or not doing what they’re supposed to when you’re not around.

WW - Taal Volcano

Photos of Taal Volcano [taken by my husband]

The volcano has erupted violently several times, causing loss of life in the populated areas surrounding the lake, the current death toll standing at around 5,000 - 6,000. Because of its proximity to populated areas and eruptive history, the volcano has been designated a Decade Volcano worthy of close study to prevent future natural disasters. It was thought to be named as “a volcano inside a volcano” because many believed that the lake that circles the volcano was once a crater or mouth of a volcano.

They are absolutely breathtaking. I’m ecstatic to have them printed and get some custom picture framing.

New Bedroom Look

Filed under: home improvement — Wrote by admin on Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 @ 2:25 am

I admit I’m never the type who goes for modern furniture. But just recently, my husband sent me some urls of the type of furniture that he likes. We were trying to upgrade the look of our bedroom and work area so we we’re browsing online for ideas. I was surprised to see that almost all of his suggestions are leaning towards modern furniture. I never thought he’d like stuff like the one on the photo below.

On our latest out of town trip, I saw a chair similar to the sofa above in the entertainment room. While waiting for my husband to finish his game, I’ve decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised that it’s very comfortable. I thought it would be very hard and give me back aches but it actually supports my back way better than cushioned chairs. Still, even if it’s comfortable, I just don’t see modern furniture working in our bedroom. We’ll have to change everything from lighting, lamp, dressers and bed. Speaking of bed, I’m willing to go the modern route if I can have everything in this photo at a cheap price.

Finally, a Road Trip

Filed under: travel — Wrote by admin on Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 @ 2:43 am

To celebrate my birthday, we’re off to Taal Vista hotel in Tagaytay this Friday. Thanks to cheap travel deals online, I got a low rate for a superior room, which usually costs $25 more. I’m pretty excited about this trip because it’s been a while since we went out of town. I’ve already listed several restaurants in Tagaytay where we’re planning to eat so expect more posts about them. I even told my husband to go on a diet this week because we’ll be eating tons over the weekend for sure. I do hope it will not rain, because I’m planning to go horseback riding with my daughter and visit the zoo.
